St Joseph's Catholic Infant School is a Voluntary Aided school within the Diocese of Brentwood. Our thriving school community includes Nursery classes and links to our Junior School, Tollgate Teaching Alliance and the Aquinas Learning Trust.
Our grounds provide great opportunities for outdoor learning, as well as play, sport and family events.
Our vision is for every child to make the best possible progress. We challenge children to achieve their best through an ethos of positive praise, high expectations and providing the right level of support. Our committed staff team have developed an exciting and engaging curriculum that is based on the interests of our children. We aim to inspire future leaders, professionals and socially responsible citizens. We nurture our children to be confident and resilient so that they believe in themselves as individuals in a wider society.
In 2018 & 2019 we were ranked in the top 20% of schools nationally for Reading, Writing and Maths. Our Phonics progress is also ranked in the top 20% of schools nationally. Our end of Key Stage results are consistently significantly above the national average and indeed above other local schools.
Every child is of equal importance and unique. Pupils and members of our community are valued for what they are rather than what they can do; and are given every opportunity for educational development to the highest level possible. We are all equal and every child is provided with the foundation to become a life-long learner growing in confidence and self-esteem as well as developing a positive attitude to learning. Through high expectations and aspiration we prepare every child to become an adult contributor to society.
I hope that our website gives you an insight and understanding of our core values of ambition, responsibility, citizenship, creativity, empathy and faith. We would be delighted to welcome you to our school. Please call the school office to arrange a visit and see why our school is so special.
