RSHE Developments - September 2026 

At St Joseph’s Federation, it is important that we keep in line with changes made to legislation at guidance in primary education and inform you of these developments as they occur.

The government recently introduced new relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education guidance (July 2025), that all schools are required to follow from 1 September 2026.

As a result, we are currently reviewing our current RSE and health education curriculum and policy, so that we can be sure our provision is appropriate for our pupils based on their:

• Age and development stage

• Physical and emotional maturity

• Religious and cultural background

• Special educational needs and disabilities ( SEND ) • Religious Character of our Federation
