Published performance data is currently based on Attainment only and not progress. No primary progress measures data will be published for 2023/24 or 2024/25 because tests were cancelled in 2019/20 and 2020/21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a school, we value the importance of the progress that pupils make from their individual starting points as well as their overall attainment score.

Phonics Screening Check
St Joseph's uses 'Read, Write Inc' , a DfE approved robust systematic approach to teaching phonics.
The 'Phonics Screening Check' is administered to pupils at the end of Year 1. The check assesses how well pupils have learnt all their 'sounds' to help them decode, blend and segment words when reading.
At St Joseph's, we understand that all children are different and some my experience more challenges in learning than others. This can be due to additional learning needs, social and emotional needs as well as having English as a second language.
St Joseph's offers intervention and support for all children to ensure all our pupils to make progress, no matter their starting point.
